After initially having a very bad run of Rental Issues and communication problems with Rawson Glenwood, I had a profuse apology for the hiccups encountered, during their teething stage of getting the rental Department up and Running.

Unfortunately I just happened to be one of the very first customers for their rental department and they couldn't have picked a more difficult customer if they tried.

After receiving the apology regarding the delays and hiccups, Rawson have been great with their service.

I get notified of any issues that have arisen and they are very quick to rectify anything or make and effort to deal with a query.

On the property sales side, the team is fantastic. They put in huge effort to try sell your property, and they really do make the experience worthwhile. very friendly and helpful.

So if you in the market, go pay them a visit.

Rental Rectified

When I first dealt with Rawson Glenwood in regards to selling my property they were fantastic, pulled out all the stops, went the extra mile - really did put in the effort, way surpassing any other estate agent I had dealt with.

Then I decided that while my property is on the market I might as well rent it out in the interim. And this is where my experience with Rawson Glenwood changed dramatically!!

I should have really picked this up from the beginning, when I went in to see them about renting my property out and I was introduced to the Rental agent, and she filled me in about the prospective tenant she had found and gave me her card and then asked for my details etc. Great...

Then she phones me asking me if I could please meet the tenant and hand over the keys to them as she is busy over the weekend that they are moving in and cant do it. Um - I pay you an administration fee for what?

Ok so we sort that out, then she gives the tenant my contact number who then calls me about everything and anything. he isn't happy about this, and wants that changed... Hang on - Who is meant to be handling this? And secondly you saw the property prior to signing any lease and it was rented out fully furnished so whats the problem now?

Now it comes to the real downfall... Getting rental out of Rawson!

The moment I signed that rental mandate everything from the past went out the window! Completely!

The first month, I had to phone to find out when the rental gets paid, i was told as per agreement it gets paid on the 2nd of every month and should reflect in your account on the 3rd. Ok cool well today happens to the be the 5th and there aint not money in my account!

They then pay me "rental" less all sorts of things and it ends up being less than half I should get into my account. I query it and get told they will send me a breakdown... Almost a week later of emailing and phone calls i get sent a breakdown... I look through it and nothing adds up...

So I run a few calculations and find they charged me 16.3% VAT and not 14%, charged me 8.65% annual admin fee and not 8%... I wonder how many people don't even notice this calculation error?

So with that cleared they send me an email saying that they agree that they have short paid me and will pay the difference the following month... When in fact they really should have paid the outstanding amount straight away seeing as they already had the money paid to them...

Anyway... Come to month two now...

Its the 7th day of the month and I am still trying to find out why i have not been paid this months rental... The months rental plus the outstanding amount from the month before was meant to be paid on the 2nd.

And when i email querying it, i do not get a response! I phone and get told that they about to email me through all the stuff, and that everything has been submitted to headoffice for payment and they not sure why it hasn't been paid yet, they waiting for feedback.

Well how about FIND out? and get back to the customer? How about, reply to the email keeping the customer informed about what is happening and what you are doing? NO... rather just ignore all the emails over three days!
