    We have just recently moved to Parkhurst and was very happy when I came across this Post Office in Greenside.
    I was also happy a week ago until I was exposed to the services of a very rude and unhelpful assistant.
    The service and attitude I received from this particular assistant was appaling to say the least.
    I had a regstered letter posted a week before and thought while I'm in the area I would check on the status of the letter.
    I am aware that one could track it on the internet,but having had problems with that previously I thought I would get the information first hand.
    The elderly man with glasses(I could not get his name from his colleague) indicated that he would assist me,as I was next in the queue.
    I've had dealings with the other two assistants who were very efficient and helpful on my first visit a week ago.
    When I asked the assistant for the status of the letter,he was very irate and said,"we give you the tracking number so that you coud check on the internet" I said I am aware ,but I prefer to get the information from the post office and asked him if he could check.
    He did so very reluctantly.I then asked him to check if my vechile licence had to be renewed in Johannesburg or Cape Town as the vechile was in Cape Town,once again I received a very rude and disgruntled answer.
    By this time I was clearly not happy,that one should tolerate such abuse from any person,let alone somebody that is suppose to render a public service.I told him that his attitude towards me was not conducive to good customer relations ,and certainly not a manner in dealing with clients. I said I would report this bad behaviour to his superior.To which he answered, that I could do just that and that it is my choice.I hope to contact the manager to lay an official complaint .

    Rude Assistant

    I'm usually happy to stop by here, parking in the center is easy, the queues are usually minimal and service tends to be quick. Plus you can grab a bubble tea from Happy Me situated right next door.

    Minimal queues and efficient service

    I'm usually happy to stop by here, parking in the center is easy, the queues are usually minimal and service tends to be quick. Plus you can grab a bubble tea from Happy Me situated right next door.

    Efficient post office

    Quick and convenient

    Greenside post office has great service, in and out in no time!

    Saturday Morning Mayhem

    The renewal of my drivers license took about 45 minutes. I was 5th in the queue, there were 3 kiosks open, two functional and the third looked as if the teller was busy with admin. I noted 3 or 4 people behind me quitting the queue out of frustration. I can only attribute this inefficiency to total disregard for customer care and disrespect for peoples time.

    I stopped over to renew my motor vehicle licence. This is normally a quick 10 min exercise but I spent 45 mins. It was most frustrating to experience a trainee but the most shocking thing about this experience was that he was the only person serving us. Only later did the manager assist. He was highly competent and efficient, to his credit.

    45min to renew my drivers licence

    I stopped over to renew my motor vehicle licence. This is normally a quick 10 min exercise but I spent 45 mins. It was most frustrating to experience a trainee but the most shocking thing about this experience was that he was the only person serving us. Only later did the manager assist. He was highly competent and efficient, to his credit.

    oh dear its needs a make over and more space

    its in my area so i use it......but many issues....it needs a major makeover and more space..at the moment its old and very dirty looking....but staff over there is great....i have spoken to them about getting a make over but they say goverments decision..so we have to wait.........

    Post-office (Crown Mines)

    I went to collect an overseas parcel yesterday. Queues were short, but there were "difficult" customers ahead. The cool thing; their BIG boss (lady in red jacket) came forward, opened another counter, and quickly cleared the backlog. Great service.

    Went to collect an international parcel at Crown Mines post-office a few days ago. Smooth professional service. I luv the strong security standards the Post-office has, when it comes to collection of credit-cards; and they do not compromise here (which is in the client/bank's interest).

    Post-office (Crown Mines)

    Went to collect an international parcel at Crown Mines post-office a few days ago. Smooth professional service. I luv the strong security standards the Post-office has, when it comes to collection of credit-cards; and they do not compromise here (which is in the client/bank's interest).

    It is rare that the State gets compliments on the Service delivery or Innovation - Well....I paid my vehicle licence at the Post Office and it was fantastic. Even though I had to wait for a few minutes and the Post Office needs a serious make-over, this innovation by the State, saved me at least 3 hours and a few litres of petrol. Most importantly, services are now being taken to the communities.

    Paid my vehicle licence and it was hassle free

    It is rare that the State gets compliments on the Service delivery or Innovation - Well....I paid my vehicle licence at the Post Office and it was fantastic. Even though I had to wait for a few minutes and the Post Office needs a serious make-over, this innovation by the State, saved me at least 3 hours and a few litres of petrol. Most importantly, services are now being taken to the communities.
