Museum of Military History - Needs a Rocket !
Situated adjacent to the Johannesburg Zoo, on the high eastern flank, the Museum of Military History (known in years gone by as "The War Museum", has static displays of South African troops / vehicles and aircraft used principally in the first and second world wars. As young boys, we loved a visit to the 'War Museum" to have a chance to look at (and clamber in and out of) the various tanks and other military vehicles on display. Although displays have been added to and updated over time, it seems that very little (if anything) has happened to keep the facility fresh and vibrant. Seems like a bit of an old white elephant nowadays ?
