    Highly responsive

    There are multiple interruptions on a weekly basis on my street. Is this an issue with aging infrastructure or what? Besides this issue, City Power staff are highly responsive.

    Never try call city power to get to the bottom of why there is an outage, The Bellevue East SS tripped yesterday (affecting the Houghton estate area as well) and as per usual, I call to find out what is the problem. The call centre staff either don't answer the phone or when they do they give you a serious attitude. The twitter handle is munch more effective in terms of dealing with people's queries.     Never call them unless you are bored

    Never try call city power to get to the bottom of why there is an outage, The Bellevue East SS tripped yesterday (affecting the Houghton estate area as well) and as per usual, I call to find out what is the problem. The call centre staff either don't answer the phone or when they do they give you a serious attitude. The twitter handle is munch more effective in terms of dealing with people's queries. I encourage everyone to rather get in contact that way

    Our power went off yesterday early morning and was reported. By 8 o'clock last night we were advised that there were 4 large outages and one set of technicians dealing with all of them and they would attend to the problem as soon as possible. 3 o'clock this afternoon I called again and was told the call was closed. When I enquired why as I was still without power I was told as we live in a complex and as they could not gain access through the main gate they had closed the call. I had to report it again as there were now about 10 units without power and eventually power is back on as off 6 o'clock this evening. I have been told it is a temporary repair and that they will have to come back tomorrow. I have sent a WhatsApp to the area manager and I can see although it ha gone through it has not been read. Really bad service, the state of the nation!

    Just a joke

    Our power went off yesterday early morning and was reported. I have a prepaid meter an was assured it was a technical fault. 40 hrs later the power has been restored temporarily after appalling service. By 8 o'clock last night we were advised that there were 4 large outages and one set of technicians dealing with all of them and they would attend to the problem as soon as possible. 3 o'clock this afternoon I called again and was told the call was closed.     Waste of time

    Getting City Power to come to your place is a mission. We had a power outage at our place recently and whenever we tried calling them they'd make us hold on the line for hours... it's ridiculous. After almost a week they sent someone to come fix the problem, about two days after the problem was fixed we had no power again.

    Power Outages

    Recently there have been many unplanned power cuts in my area. According to Eskom there was no scheduled power cuts but on more than 1 occasion have we been left without electricity for more than 10 hours

    Our prepaid electricity meter has to be the best thing we have in our home. It allows us to manage the service by ourselves, budget and control our usage. City Power manages the service well, in terms of maintenance but also ease of use. We are able to purchase electricity with our banking app, using rewards points, which is an absolute pleasure. I feel sorry for those people with billing issues and miscalculated fees. We simply don't have an issue with it.

    Prepaid electricity for the win

    Our prepaid electricity meter has to be the best thing we have in our home. It allows us to manage the service by ourselves, budget and control our usage. City Power manages the service well, in terms of maintenance but also ease of use. We are able to purchase electricity with our banking app, using rewards points, which is an absolute pleasure.     Poor, poor, poor

    Despite their numerous attempts to resolve the issues with my electricity supply, I still do not have electricity. Yesterday, we did not have supply for 22 hours. The technician came out at 3:30am this morning to fix but 3 hours later another trip occurred. Every single time, I have to log another fault via Joburg Connect or the website. Really sucks!!!

    Meter reading can improve

    If you ignore the high cost of electricty and the load shedding, the service of City Power is very good. The one area that can be improved, is teh scheduling and communictaion of meter reading. It sometimes poses a security risk, other times it is irritating when the readers just rock-up.

    Experienced a power outage after contractors had worked on the street pole. They installed a box which allows the city to switch off our supply from their offices.

    When they left the power did not come back on. I phoned city power to explain what had happed and to report the power outage. I terminated the first call after a 45 minutes wait while the operator went to check the reason for the outage. The second call resulted in me being told there was a cable theft in the area and a team was on its way to collect supplies from the store.

    I noticed that a number of teams were working in the area and had another check our supply. They were extremely helpful and dicovered the first team had not switched on the the power breaker-switch after completing their work.

    Many thanks to the contractors who helped out, but what a farce the city phone in servrce is.What they told me was a blatant lie.

    Lies

    City Power (Johannesburg)

    I'm not going to go into the aggravation we are all experiencing with load shedding because it just gets my blood boiling but, the service you get from City Power when your street lights arent working is fantastic! I reported the lights being out in the park next door and, on the same day, the lights were replaced. I expressed my concerns about people sleeping in the park and the lady who took my call reported it as urgent. I couldn't have asked for better service!

    Power Outage

    Since the beginning of April calling , city power due to power outage in my property . I have more than 30 Reference numbers , still this problem still persist .
    Since Monday , I do not have electricity I phoned , log on to their website still today nothing done (Ref 21303617 , CPWEB654796 , CPWEB654138 and CPWEB654877. I Have been reporting this problem many times , but it seems there is no solution to this problem , however technician keeps on going to the transformer and do nothing . it is very frustrating to see your neighbours enjoying their lights eating warm food .

    Besides the huge number of power outages we have, even more frustrating is trying to get through to the 375-5555 number. I have held on for more than half an hour, only to have some incompetent person put the phone down on me!! We have a substation opposite our home and when the technicians come out to fix problems, we are always told it is because the equipment is so old but there is no money to fix it - not a good impression for anyone!!

    After experiencing Telkom's service , it's easy to assume that all State company's are bad. Two days ago, we experienced power outages and I contacted City Power. I was amazed at the professionalism of the call centre agent, how knowledgeable he was and the manner in which he dealth with my enquiry. In addition, the phone was answered within a few seconds. This is rare to find but pleasantly surprising.

    Amazing Call Centre

    After experiencing Telkom's service , it's easy to assume that all State company's are bad. Two days ago, we experienced power outages and I contacted City Power. I was amazed at the professionalism of the call centre agent, how knowledgeable he was and the manner in which he dealth with my enquiry. In addition, the phone was answered within a few seconds. This is rare to find but pleasantly surprising.

Following the twitter feeds, so the question to City Power is, how is it that my area and so many other areas in JHB have cable fault on the same day and at the same time???
