With Box Office from DSTV, Sterkinekor should review their prices. It is expensive for a family to go out on a movie outing.
With Box Office it is convient, cheap and the newest movies are available. I was a member of Groupon but had so much bad experiences terminated my memberhip.

I would like to share my experience, which occurred in the rest room of your establishment on 30/7/12.My partner and I live in Ballito and frequent SK @Gateway..
Upon conclusion@ approx 20h20,I visited the ladies room, on my way to dinner. I was in a cubicle when 2 of your employees entered. The racial remarks made thereafter was extremely disturbing to me,as I noticed that half the patrons in the cinema were South Africans of Indian origin. The young coloured lady (approx 1.52m tall,"relaxed hair",bright blue eye makeup) seemed rather upset by a new female manager.
She screamed"these charous are all the same..with big mouths, and talk alot. They need to be taught a lesson,we must get together and send her back overseas".It went on for a full 8 minutes.
I was very tempted to intervene but decided against a confrontation as it was an otherwise beautiful evening.
Please train your staff,on your grievance policy, and remind them that any patron irrespective of their colour or creed MUST be treated with the respect that they deserve.
Being G.M of a hotel,I am fully aware that most companies have their own "internal politics". This should be addressed behind closed doors, most certainly not in a public restroom. The incident has left me extremely disappointed, angry and upset, at being judged so harshly. I consider this hate speech. Is this how the Indian community is perceived by members of your staff? Why then should we spend our hard earned money there?
Your staff are representatives of your company, their behaviour, while in their uniforms and on your premises should reflect a happy, welcoming attitude, and not one that practises racial intolerance.

We tried to go watch Fast and Furious on 27th May at East Rand Mall , the 9.15 show. When we arrived we were asked not to buy tickets quite yet because the projectionist had not turned up yet. We were informed that the manager said the movie would start 30 mins later than advertised. I asked if this was a definite 30 min wait only to which the reply was yes. Needless to say upon return 30 mins later, still no movies and still no idea when it would commence. If I was told at the start that no one had a clue what was going on we could have gone to watch the movie at Emperors instead of wasting time ERM....Thanks for wasting my time.

We live in Tzaneen and the nearest Sterkinekor is an hour and a half away through a mountainous road. Anyways, we set off on a journey to watch fast and furious 6 with my 2 boys. You can imagine the excitement and enthusiasm but when we got to the theatre it turned to SNOT and TEARS.My 13 yr old was allowed to watch the movie and my 10 yr old was not.We explained to the lady checking the tickets (we were allowed to purchase our tickets)that we had come a long way and have nobody else to le leave him with - but she was hearing nothing! So my older son and I went in and my hubby had to resort to keeping my 10 yr old busy.IMAGINE MY DISGUST ON LEAVING THE THEATRE AND SEEING ANOTHER FAMILY WITH WHAT LOOKED LIKE A 6 YEAR OLD!!!Why were they allowed in???Did they pay a bribe - which seems to be the norm for everything these days?I am so infuriated. We will no longer go to movies-rather wait for DSTV to bring it out on box office.Your double standards are PATHETIC and DISGUSTING!!!And your staff go on as is they are the directors and producers of the movies-they are doing us a favour!CATCH A WAKE UP - WE ARE THE CUSTOMERS AND SHOULD ALL BE GIVEN THE SAME TREATMENT!!!

Hi, my son was all excited about the release of the new fast and furious, but his excitement turned to disappointment when he being ten at the time was not allowed into the cinema because of the age restriction of thirteen on the movie. Ster kinekor' gateway's rude staff refused to allow numerous kids into he cinema resulting in the parents not watching the movie as well, and a loss in sales. I have now resorted to buying a pirated copy because my son cannot watch it at a local cinema. Sorry to say that ster kinekor will loose thousands of customers for the same reason. I think it's a parents own responsibility as to what heir kids watch. Don't blame and point fingers when the pirate DVD sales go up.

We go to the movies at least once a week. (Eastgate) This "Happy place" turned out to be "we-add-to-your-stress-place". It has happened EVERY time the past three months, that the people at the ticket counter are just not there to sell tickets and you have to use the self help stations, which are too often off-line...back to the ticket counter, where (hopefully) one guy has now appeared from somewhere..and then he doesn't have change. Or he books you for the wrong time...(Have I mentioned that it appears to be an enormous favour he is doing you to BE at the ticket counter???) Once in the theatre (upset after your experience just to get there), the film is either starting late or not at all and you have to go look for a staff member to make them aware of the fact). Our last experience on 21 April 2013 at Eastgate, was that the film was not aligned and we had to watch 20 minutes of the film on a "divided" screen. We also went to see PARKER the week before and had to watch a "STRIPY" film for a long time, until the film burnt and we had to wait for them to fix the film before we could continue to watch it. Everybody in the theatre had to make such a commotion, before the manager made the effort to come there and apologize. We spend so much money every week at the "used-to-be-happy-place" that we are considering to rather wait for the blu ray dvd's to come out and watch it in the comfort of our own home, enjoying a better variety of snacks we bought for a much cheaper price. STER KINEKOR EASTGATE JUST IS NOT WORTH GOING TO ANYMORE. TOTALLY INCOMPITENT STAFF THERE! AND I DARE YOU TO REPLY TO THIS COMMENT...IF YOU READ IT AT ALL AND CARE AT ALL STER KINEKOR...!

Somehow Ster Kinekor at Cape Gate is a disaster
The staff at the ticket counter are extremely incompetent
There are ALWAYS long ques waiting and it moves VERY slowly
The refreshment counter is exactly the same.
After waiting in the que for 45 min to purchase a ticket for the movie, we went to the refreshment counter. There was nobody at the counter. We waited for approximately another 15 min and then I started walking into the back of the refreshment area. All the staff were at the back chatting and one lady shouted at me "we will open just now, you must wait in the que". I immediately walked to the manager's office to complain but there was no access to the manager's office. It was locked. When eventually someone came out, it was explained that they were counting money.
Having to accept this, I explained about our problems etcetera and the person (not sure if it was the manager) advised me that he will investigate.
Since then, the problem has not been solved. We have been to Cape Gate on numerous occasions but the problem seem to remain. Maybe Ster Kinekor HO should investigate ???
