Gateway Hotel (Umhlanga)

Stay here often during my business travels. The room are really nice and comfortable. The staff is always friendly and helpful, only a few less pleasant experiences with in-room dining service; Food is always great but at times service can be extremely slow.

If you want cleanliness, friendly staff, awesome service, good food and a hotel close to a mall-then choose Gateway Hotel! I've been there twice and their facility is above average even their conference venue! Just their parking area might confuse you a bit as you have to enquire at the front desk if you are new because the hotel uses the shopping mall parking which is close to them. Don't mistake me though, guests of the hotel park for free!

The service and personal attention was world class. From the time I was picked up from the airport, I was treated like royalty. The hotel is not 5 star but surpassed 5 star service by far. The staff were hospitable and went the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I must also add that I did the booking via their central reservations, that too was a pleasant experience. My entire experience was easy and demonstrated efficiency by this hotel group. Kudos Gateway Hotel!
