    Passport renewal

    I have been to two branches and found this branch is the most efficient and friendly.No delays and so much order compared to Umgeni and Pintown
    ALTHOUGH a smaller branch but volumes are the same .Just so pleased to have finally sorted out my I'D and Passport here .Thank you Tongaat.

    Have been trying to collect my passport for over a month, the collections have two computers, one being down for well over 2 months so one counter open. Every time one goes there the queue is miles long, surely the department realize that there is such a demand for their services and that they would expand and employ more people and improve the facilities..... the reviews they receive speak for themselves... to top it all they never never answer their phones... why they have a number on the website is laughable....

    Disappointed

    Have been trying to collect my passport for over a month, the collections have two computers, one being down for well over 2 months so one counter open. Every time one goes there the queue is miles long, surely the department realize that there is such a demand for their services and that they would expand and employ more people and improve the facilities..... the reviews they receive speak for themselves... to top it all they never never answer their phones... why they have a number on the website is laughable....

    Frustrated

    Can someone please explain why can't any of these contact numbers be answered, for goodness sake it is beyond pathetic and unbelievable, total disregard to common business etiquette...sad state for S.A.

    Hopeless

    Disorganised and completely lacking in interest.

They usuall open door about 45 mins to an hr late and this just seems to be an abuse of the public. Explain this. They need to close at 4 so they only see 100 clients a day... are they on a go slow

    I applied for my daughter's Unabridged Certificate on 11/08/2015. It is 1year and 3 months later...and it is still not processed. I called DHA over 20 times, visited the branch about 7 times, submitted DHA24 and DHA288 forms, emailed hacc@dha.gov.za, called an alternate number 012 4022250 (no answer). I am frustrated and really disappointed. I already cancelled 3 trips. We are scheduled to fly out on 07/12/2016, but it doesn't look very promising right now. Can anyone advise me on this?

    Unabridged Certificate - 1 year and 3 months later and it is still not processed!

    I applied for my daughter's Unabridged Certificate on 11/08/2015. It is 1year and 3 months later...and it is still not processed. I called DHA over 20 times, visited the branch about 7 times, submitted DHA24 and DHA288 forms, emailed hacc@dha.gov.za, called an alternate number 012 4022250 (no answer). I am frustrated and really disappointed. I already cancelled 3 trips. We are scheduled to fly out on 07/12/2016, but it doesn't look very promising right now. Can anyone advise me on this?

    outstanding service

    sincere thanks to the department of home affairs Tongaat for their outstanding service.we have received our 2 passport and one smart card I.d in 1 week.great job guys thank you

    I've been to this branch twice now to apply for a passport. At both times the systems were down, and the second time I went they were apparently down from the day before.

    The systems should work or atleaat not be down for two days, we need this service, some people in this line need emergency passports for emergencies.

    However I will say in terms of lines, it's a lot better than departments in other parts of the country. If they could keep the systems online I would recommend this home affairs if you aren't a fan of crazy lines.

    WHY have contact numbers when no one answers the phones. I am not sure who reads this but you people need to get efficient staff.I have called numerous time and nobody picks up the phone.     ANSWER THE PHONES

    WHY have contact numbers when no one answers the phones. I am not sure who reads this but you people need to get efficient staff.I have called numerous time and nobody picks up the phone. We have to travel there and are made to wait in long queues with a small baby, this lack of service is pathetic. I would love to hear from the management of this branch. I am utterly disgusted with the appalling NO SERVICE....

    hi - to even suggest a one is not good enough. We travelled to get to the Tongaat home affairs to collect my family's new smart card ID as my daughter needs hers urgently for school purposes as she is in matric. I checked beforehand that they close at 12.30. We got there just after 11 only to find out there is a queue (of about 10 people) outside. We got out of the car to check only to find out that the security wouldn't allow anyone in reason being that they were short staff. Can you believe it? all we needed to do was to collect our ID's. We stood there until about 12 and realised we are not going to get in. I am not sure who actually reads this but if you need efficient/responsible and reliable staff - call me- I will be glad to assist you - you will definitely receive much less complaints than you are right now. It is disappointing that it has come to this. we were so frustrated as we had put off other stuff to make time for this. I tried a hundred times (literally) calling the branch but my calls never even get answered. I would love to speak to the person responsible for managing this department.

    Dissappointed

    tongaat office
    stood in the line from 6:30am. only entered the office at 11:00am. my ticket was issued at 11:04 so on the system it would give a false impression about the queue times. no help from the staff . security guards are rude. What I don't understand is why isn't a government official assisting the public instead the guards are given that task. the security guards facial expressions ,its as if they want to fight with you, and what I have seen on that day they are not afraid to say what they want to people with no consequences.
    after standing in the line for +-4h30 mins . there was 3 rows of empty seats . so I sat down . the guard instructed me not to sit there, and I asked her why she tells me because she said so. There's no service delivery in that office, people are not treated with respect.

    stood in the line from 6:30am. only entered the office at 11:00am. my ticket was issued at 11:04 so on the system it would give a false impression about the queue times. no help from the staff . security guards are rude.     If there was a ZERO on the rating scale that is what I would give them! I am standing there with my 9 month old child simply wanting to collect a passport but the security will not even allow me to stand inside in the shade. DISGUSTING!!!!!

    Disgusting behaviour and shocking service!

    If there was a ZERO on the rating scale that is what I would give them!
