I am still waiting for my id book 7 weeks later. I re-applied at the pinetown office. Mine was lost wen my car was hijacked. I was told I would get an sms when it is ready for collection; and it would take about 2 weeks. No sms yet , so about two weeks ago after failing to contact them telephonically I went to the office - it wasn't ready. I cannot get through on the landline number listed. Such shabby service!!!! definitely a thumbs-down. ayesha

I applied for 2 passports one for my son and one for my daughter, I recieved my daughters, however nothing for my son?, No one ever answers the phone when you call for assistance iether and when you go there in person all they do is shrug thier shoulders. The service is pathetic as I asked for forms for an un abridged birth certificate as well and was give two completely different forms on both occasions !!

Head and shoulders above the central durban branch, everything runs decently well and everyone helps you as needed, still lots of work to do it make it a good goverment facility.

For a government run place the service is phenomenal. I only use Pinetown as they are the only Home Affairs that I use, they actually know what they are doing and serve you with a smile on their face. Big up to you.

Took a friend here for a lost ID book and he was helped with a temporary ID and his ID book was ready within a week. The staff can be better trained on service but they score well on efficiency.
