I found Dr Chrysostomou a couple of years ago when I was searching for a GYN to perform a laparoscopy. With all things its difficult finding a doctor you trust and feel comfortable with, however from the moment I met Dr Chrysostomou I knew he would be my doctor for everything GYN and OB related. He performed the laparoscopy the same week of my first consult with him, and I recovered so well. When my husband and I decided it was time for children I fell pregnant 3 months after trying, I was ecstatic. Went to see Dr Chrysostomou and all was fine, I sadly miscarried and Dr Chrysostomou was extremely supportive and compassionate. He gave me medication to heal after the miscarriage after about a week things were still not back to normal I went to see him and we found I still had the amniotic sac, and needed a D&C. He knew how heart broken I was and made sure the D&C was done the following day. After that I fell pregnant again about 3 months later and he helped make sure I took the right vitamins and hormones to keep my baby. I was able to phone him at any time that I was worried about something, i was always just being paranoid but he was compassionate every single time. He delivered my beautiful little girl via C section and I healed so well after the operation, even the scaring is minimal and barley noticeable. I had other problems after the birth of that he helped me through. He is extremely compassionate and understanding he is one of the best Dr's I have ever had and I would highly recommend him. I refuse to use another Dr based on how kind and caring Dr Chrysostomou is.

So after all the fear of such a major surgery I thought i would share this info, in the hopes it helps make things a little easier for someone else. Long story short it was recommended to have a hysterectomy, after pap results came back with CIN3, I had a cone biopsy done which was apparently the most difficult procedure my previous GYN performed and I was also told that he would not perform any other type of Hysterectomy and my only option was to have the TAH (Total Abdominal Hysterectomy). I was completely against having this very invasive surgery. I started researching alternatives, etc. I finally came across a professor that teaches the Laparoscopic Assisted Hysterectomy, which not many doctors do. My experience is as follows. I found Dr Andreas Chrysostomou based at Linksfield Hospital, had my consultation and we scheduled my surgery which i had on Friday the 6th March. I was discharged from hospital on the 8th March and fully mobile. Today is the 1st April 2015 and no complications or anything. For anyone that needs this surgery but is scared of the invasive option, I highly recommend looking into the laparoscopic assisted option. Yes there r many comments on forums, etc so i can only speak from my own experience. Although Dr Chrysostomou is based at Netcare Linksfield Hospital he is also a professor that teaches at Joburg Gen. His details are 011 647 3562 if anyone ever needs it. Just thought it necessary to share as it took me quite some time to find the right option and surgeon. When I thanked the Dr for doing everything he could without cutting me, he simply said, we are nothing it was all God. Such confidence yet also such humility. Excellent Bed side manner, Brilliant at what he does which was most important to me. Feeling very grateful.
