The Emergence of the Cattle Barons
During the American Civil War (while the farmers were away fighting), a new breed of entrepreneur was born, the Cattle Barons. These immensely rich and powerful men, along with their cowboys moved millions of unattended Texan cattle vast distances (under adverse conditions) across the Kansas plains to Railheads for transport to market centres. This helped generate income which stabliized the war-torn Texan economy.
One of the newer additions to the successful Cattle Baron Group, this restaurant opened in May 2001 at the prestigious Canal Walk shopping centre. The spacious split-level interior seats 230 and there is an attractive fully enclosed smoking section, to ensure the comfort of the restaurant's non-smoking patrons. In addition, there is a large patio with outside tables and umbrellas which overlooks the pavilion area and is perfect for al fresco dining during the summer months.
Cattle Baron steaks are legendary and at Canal Walk the biggest seller is the famous Chateaubriand - juicy and tender and cooked to perfection by our specially trained Chefs. Whilst steaks are certainly our forté, fish lovers will be pleased to hear that we also serve excellent Calamari, so why not try our Calamari steak - it is highly recommended. There are great choices for vegetarians too, so whatever your preference, let the Cattle Baron impress you with first-class food, superior service and a congenial atmosphere.
