I will try and keep this as short as possible.

On Sunday, 12 February 2017, we went to Edgars Menlyn. Mainly because of the 30% discount that was offered for dresses. Even though I stay in Centurion, we decided to go to the Menlyn store, as they have a bigger variety and brands like Lipzy London and Jo Borkett, which I like.

My husband and I have 8 month old boy/girl twins, so usually when we go to the mall, we take e.g. Woolworths trolleys and load each child in a separate trolley. This makes it possible for us to go our separate ways since himself and my boy are not so keen on clothes shopping the way myself and my girl are.

Hence, at Edgars Menlyn, I chose 4 items which I liked and wanted to try them on. At the fitting rooms I was informed I am not allowed to take my baby in the trolley in with me in the fitting room. I offered that they can search my trolley (which only had a nappy bag in) before and after. but they were adamant trolleys are not allowed. So, a little dismayed and probably used to shops like Forever New who will go out of their way to accommodate me if I want to fit something with my kids, I nevertheless took her out of the trolley to fit my clothes.

As I entered the fitting room, I was utterly disgusted by the state of the floor. It was nauseating dirty. I could not imagine that I must put her down on the floor there. She has just started crawling and is a real busy body, so there was now way I can put her on the couch. I tried cleaning some part of the floor with a tissue and put her in front of the mirror, hoping it will keep her busy while I fit the clothes. However, it only lasted about 2 minutes then she wanted to start exploring. I could not stand her crawling around on the dirty floor. Therefore, I could not manage to fit the dresses properly as I should have.

Eventually I bought a Lipzy London dress. Upon my arrival at home when I fitted the dress, I found it not fitting properly. Now I do not have the time to travel back to Menlyn to exchange it. Edgars Centurion do not sell Lipzy London anymore.

Now I am basically sitting with a dress for which I paid more than a R1 000 that I cannot wear.

I am utterly disappointed and disgusted in Edgars's way in which they treat customers. You are basically telling me we are not good enough to shop in a clean store and must expose our children to dirt and germs if we want to fit clothes.

It's 16h45 on the,15th of December and there is only 3 tills open at the men's section with 20 plus people in the cue. So now I'm asking myself why doesn't Edcon employ people this time of the year as seriously one cannot stand in the cue of more than 30 minutes for service!
