Once I had clearly determined that I needed a new battery for my wife's car, decided to 'shop around' a little, and having seen TWT's in store merchandising a few times when visiting them for wheel and tyre - related matters, decided to see what they could offer. Despite being frenetic as usual on a Saturday morning, at TWT Blackheath, I was served immediately (TWT's client management processes are really good !) and advised that they unfortunately did not have stock of my specific battery type, but offered an alternative in their 'ATLAS' range ? Regrettably they did not have stock of the much vaunted premium Duracell Battery. Price quoted was R 1 100-00 for the Atlas. I decided that I would like to 'shop around' a bit more. Maybe stick to Tyres, Tiger ?

Tiger Wheel - Maybe better to Stick to the Knitting - er Tyres ?

After a recent trip to OR Tambo, where I experienced a worrying wander in our RAV4.1, I took the old girl in for a wheel alignment check. Despite a frenetically busy general workshop, I was swiftly accommodated in the alignment bay. Tiger's ability to manage customer flow is impressive ! The aligner found a very out of alignment old buggy, and proceeded to undertake the alignment. Disturbingly, a loose bolt on the left rear trailing arm was found, and tightened. I was advised that they were unable to complete the process to specification as the vehicle needed a new left rear 'eccentric bolt' ASAP. I was not charged at this stage, and left intending to get the necessary work done, but life has a lot of little twists and turns (see my review of Honeydew Toyota), and it may be a while before I get back to Tiger. Nonetheless most grateful for assistance and care in finding the loose bolt at the rear, but concerned about the fault diagnosis and the other (front) loose bolt ?

When I bought my Tucson eight years ago it came with Hancook tyres. I have never bought tyres other than Hancook since then. Every six weeks I get my tyres topped up with nitrogen and check that they dont need replacing. Pieter always helps me and the service is great. If I do need work done to my car (I swap my tyres around) I help myself to free coffee and check all the staffs certificates and achievements in their pause area. Excellent service but, to be honest, the different Tiger Wheel and Tyre branches have different prices so I always get comparative prices

Last week I went looking for new tyres, and was assisted by a very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful consultant. From the moment you step into the doors you feel very welcome whether dealing with sales consultants, cashier or the guys that do the fitting. I was given great advice on tyre purchase, the fitment and checks where done properly and I was given after care advice as well. Thanks for the great customer service and helping put me back on the road again. My first experience was a great one and left a lasting impression. Highly recommend you try them and see for yourself.

Since I bought my car I have been determined to only have nitrogen in my tyres. Once every six weeks or so I pop in and get my tyres checked and pumped. I get the distinct impression this branch does their best to "better" their staff and improve their work opportunities. The huge amount of certificates displayed is proof of this. Keep it up Tiger Wheel and Tyre!!

After encountering a 'flat' - fortunately at home, in daylight, in sunny weather, on a level surface, changed the wheel, and took the offending wheel and tyre in to TWT Blackheath. TWT really have a great business model and in particular, business process, and their customer relations must truly rank with the very best in SA and even globally. Even for a paltry 'pap wiel', the grace and aplomb that my little 'issue' was accorded, was exemplary. I was greeted cordially in the reception area, my issue noted and recorded, my wheel collected and handed in at the workshop. Although I opted to leave the wheel for the day, I could have waited in the waiting area, complete with easy couches, magazines, DSTV and freshly brewed filter coffee, bru ! When I called to collect later in the day, I was accorded the same friendly service, with an explanation that my tyre was unfortunately damaged (including a sidewall area), and that TWT were unable to repair. [I know that TWT as a principle, do not fit tubes at all, and where a puncture is not plug repairable, they will recommend purchase of a new tyre ! Despite my problem not having been resolved, I was (ironically) happy with the service - friendly, polite, and professional. In view of the nature of my issue, I took my matter up with Dunlop, the tyre manufacturer, as reviewed elsewhere. (TWT do not stock Dunlop Tyres)
