So we dropped a relative off at OR Tambo, and stopped over in Fordsburg for lunch. We opted for this Train restuarant, and were not disappointed. I ordered a huge T-bone; it was well marinated, and a quality cut of meat. Wife baked potato and beef was delicious too. Service was friendly and courteous, and we enjoyed the experience.

One minor gripe is the cramped bathroom; but then this is the original train coach restroom (which I guess is a tad smaller than an airplane's facility).

When I first moved to JHB (1999), this placed used to be called Mike's Kitchen; but it seems to have been revamped over the years. anyway, I like the current feel, and recommend this place for an excellent T-bone, with a view onto Mint Road.
