About a week ago, my better half's car would not start, so after push starting, popped into Battery Centre, in Beyers Naude, in Blackheath, and obtained a quick machine diagnosis of "Battery Needs Charging". I proceeded home, undertook the charge, and off we all went for 5 days without incident. On the 6th day after a hectic day's work, my better half had to summons the parking garage people to jump start her car. That evening, another round of charging, and OK once again. On Saturday I was 'commanded' to sort the situation, so after a call to E Car in Linden, and frustrating shop around at Battery Centre Ondekkers Road (Closed - can you believe it on a Saturday morning !), Tiger Wheel and Tyre Blackheath, and Supa Quick Blackheath, finally came full circle to Battery Centre Blackheath, who retested with a Battery Failure result this time, and proceeded to fit a Raylite NANO for R 950-00 close to closing time - thanks guys. Only one frustration - it's really tight to access your shop, and with inconsiderate people just clogging up the access with parked and locked vehicles, getting in (and out) was a mission of note, and definitely puts people off ?!

My mother in law left the light on in her car for a couple of days without realising it (the rear light of the Tucson). I helped her charge the battery and followed her to Battery Centre in Beyers Naude Drive. Even though they were about to close the gentleman put in a new battery, provided a 2 year guarantee, told her to pop in for coffee and a free check on her battery every 6 months and only charged R999-00 for the battery. Most impressive

After having done quite a bit of web browsing to 'suss' out the car battery scene - wow how the 'net facilitates the once thought of theoretical assumption of "Perfect Information" ! - as well as prices, which ranged from about R 750 for a 'basic' replacement through to about R 1 000 - depending on what make and where it is purchased, opted to buy a "Raylite NANO" - a South African battery specifically designed to cater for the latest 'stop n restart' vehicles (I have seen this on some new BMW's), with new internal technology, and with a 2 year warranty (as opposed to the usual 1 year warranty), at a premium of about 20% on the average price of a supplied 'basic' - with my luck with batteries, I have found on more than 1 occasion that they 'conk' just after the warranty has expired, so this time, hoping my luck will be better. As I could not bring the vehicle in the owner recommended a nearby auto electrician that would check my charge rate and 'draw' free of charge just to make sure that the whole electrical system is A OK. Happy chappy !

I needed a battery for one of the cars; it's one of the signs of winter when old batteries "complain" in the early morning (its also one of the signs of old batteries that winter has arrived). Anyway: I opted for the Battery Centre on Beyers Naude (near Cresta Mall), and was promptly assisted. They tested the old battery, enquired regarding it's current performance, and upon my request, they advised it was five years old.

I opted for a new battery and purchased it here. I was attended to quickly, and was on my way soon. The owner was kind enough to advise that (a) if I do not do a lot of highway driving, that I take the car on the highway at least every 4-6 weeks, just to give the battery a good charge, and (b) to review a battery's "status" at the 3-year mark.

I needed to purchase a battery for a motorized golf cart. When explaining my problem I have with staff not checking battery water levels the manager suggested that I purchase a sealed battery. I did not even know that you get batteries that does not need battery water! Its has worked great so far!

They offer good batteries, and excellent service. Once I reached Battery Centre when their doors were already closed, and staff about to leave. They were kind enough to still supply and install a new battery. Service excellence.
