I recently dropped by for a cup of coffee. The service was really poor. Waiters need to be properly trained.

I like arranging to have coffee dates here because it is a convenient location, easy to find even for someone who is not familiar with the area and they make really lovely food. They always have an awesome display of muffins and other delicious baked goods and the prices are reasonable.

I got a lift home from one of my friends last week and her mom stopped off at Succulent Café and bought us each a cup cake and fresh orange juice. They were fabulous!! I just loved how this shop is decorated!! All the flower designs on the fabrics, the glass kloshes covering the cakes, makes you feel like you are eating inside a kitchen. Lovely!!

Our "ladies mornings" once a month are often at this cute, quaint little café. We sit outside and order a whole lot of muffins, cakes etc. and taste each others food. Their milkshakes are super, the hot chocolate is great and the fresh orange juice delicious. Great service, great vibes and I look forward to our next get together.

This is a lovely little "café style" restaurant and my friends and I often have a "ladies morning" there. They have enclosed the front which gives the place far more space and we can sit and be noisy as much as we want. The hot chocolate is fabulous here and the muffins and cakes are too!!

Such a great place to get together with the girls for coffee or a light meal. They also hire the venue out if you're looking to throw a kitchen tea or baby shower. Lovely venue for that type of thing!

Cringe. I said 5/5 for ambience because they have really committed to the theme... I had no plans to go in after I saw the decor but the place makes great food, awesome coffee and tea and the staff are friendly. They could work on their speed a bit but if you're not in a rush then it's a pretty relaxing spot.

After his first visit, my husband described Succulent cafe as "barbie's bedroom" given the unique and girly interior. That said, he still makes regular use of them as a meeting spot. We enjoy a ladies breakfast or afternoon tea there regularly! Great job guys - keep it up.

We had a fabulous afternoon with Mark's coffee club at Succulent. The staff are well trained and dressed in trendy attire. I sampled the velvet cup cakes and it was divine. The decor is truely unique and many customers has their phones out snapping pictures of themselves and their friends.

The diversity of impressions on 'Succulent' at the casual inaugural get together of the YOWZIT COFFEE LOVERS CLUB yesterday - in our quest to discover the perfect cup - is ample evidence of how much more this interesting establishment offers than may be evident as a first impression. (I have in fact visited Succulent on 4 previous occasions - but was too engrossed in conversation to really appreciate the establishment's many charms!) Aside from the excellent Americano (I echo Russ's impression, and rate as a 7.5/10 for the record !), and the great cupcake [naughty, but nice with a light and not too sweet cap of icing !], the decor (retro American - style ice cream 'n candy store with a dash of granny mouse !?!) made a fresh and positive impression on me. Also - a lost opportunity for Succulent - is to extend this decor brand to the outside. The dull current patio awning lets the side down completely, and this needs to be changed immediately to reflect the super inside image. Great 'Kerb Appeal' is an essential to attract and draw in the passing crowd (mainly in cars on the busy 14th Avenue)???

I was looking forward to the Saturday afternoon coffee club at Succulent. Admittedly I had formulated a picture of a ranch type- steak place and I was not even close. I was in awe at the decor, tea-party- Alice in Wonderland themed; trinkets and ornaments strategically placed and check out the mozaiced pizza oven. I was also suprised that they had my favourite- Spiced Chai on the menu. The " succulent' enigma was finally solved.

What a nice little place. The theme reminds me of that typical small town bakery and coffee house. Brilliant, not only for senior citizens but also for those who love to break away from the rush of the city. When you walk into this place you immediatly think of that small coffee shop you visit when on holliday. You completely forget that you are in the city. Their pizza' s are light, thin-based and quite tasty. The menu is larger than expected from burgers, sarmies, pizza and savoury waffles and some regular and traditional treats like cake, scones and tarts to go with your tasty latte. You can even book a tea party in advance or order whole cakes for those special occasions. Really worth the stop .

This is the perfect place if you want to forget that you are in the city for a hour or so. The Latte was well worth the trip and the pizza was great.

A great place to go for a Sunday brunch! ;)
Will definitly be back to try the cakes, scones and muffins.

Saturday afternoon coffee as part of Mark Duncan's Coffee Club.

Definitely seems the place for a good old fashioned tea-party. Pink decor reminiscent of days past, with a modern vibe. But hey, forget the tea-party, we were here for the coffee.

We were warned that the usual Barista was not in residence, so perhaps things would not be up to scratch. Being a coffee purist I take my coffee black. I was not disappointed - a well balanced Americana with a nice crema and just the right strength for an afternoon coffee. A good finish without any bitterness. Also served at just the right temperature for taking without milk.

I eagerly await the opportunity to return to delve into some of Succulent's other delights, but for now I can vouch for the fact that this trendy cafe\bistro offers a good cup of coffee that should satisfy the majority of patrons.
